La Posta Publications Publisher Peter Martin announced that its La Posta Back Issues Archive is now available on its website at www.lapostpub.com.
The La Posta Back Issues Archive project involved scanning every issue of La Posta, converting the scans to PDFs, formatting them to make each issue individually searchable, and adding them to the La Posta website,” Martin said.
 “This was made possible thanks to the efforts of our intrepid webmaster, Don Denman,” Martin added.
“We decided to make access available to all for free in order to promote American postal history and to encourage people to use the La Posta website, ” Martin said. All but the last five years have been included on the website.
Combined with the La Posta Index, researchers now have easy access to the wealth of information included in La Posta’s older issues.
To use it, just visit the La Posta website, go the top of the page for the “Journal” drop down menu and click on “Back Issues Archive.”
The searchable La Posta index is located on the same drop-down menu.
“For those who want a little more, we are adding the finishing touches to “The First 50 Years of La Posta Archive,” that will include all La Posta issues from 1969 through 2018,” Martin said. Due to the size of the files included, some 17,893 pages, the format will be on a USB thumb drive.
To access the files, all you’ll need to do is insert the thumb drive into your computer’s USB port. It will work on Mac and PC computers.
Advantages of the “The First 50 Years of La Posta Archive,” thumb drive include:
      • A bonus 16 additional issues (covering the first 50 years) over the website archive;
      • A significant time savings by not having to download each issue independently;
      • A full-search index. This bonus feature makes it possible to instantly search across the entire archive without having to search each back issue individually.
“We believe that “The First 50 Years of La Posta Archive,” thumb drive will be a huge benefit to collectors and allow them to have two bookshelves worth of La Postas in the palm of their hands,” Martin said.
The cost of this new product has not yet been determined. It is expected to be available in June.
